One day after Samsung announced a major smartphone reveal for early August, Motorola has gone ahead and done the same thing.

Motorola today confirmed that it will make a "big announcement" on August 2nd. The reveal will happen at 2:00 pm at Moto's headquarters in Chicago, and the company is teasing that whatever it's planning to announce will give us "a whole new way to connect, stream, download, video chat, and more."

So what might Motorola be planning to show? We can eliminate the Moto Z3 Play, Moto G6, and Moto E5 because those have all been announced in recent months. A new Moto Z3 flagship is a possibility, as is the Moto X5 that leaked out earlier this year. The notch-clad Motorola One Power that's been leaking frequently in recent weeks is another possibility.
