Verizon isn’t the only one that kicked off sales of the ASUS ZenFone AR today.
Amazon is now selling the unlocked version of the ASUS ZenFone AR. Pricing starts at $599 for the model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is now in stock.
Also available is a ZenFone AR with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage for $699. That model is slated to begin shipping in two to four weeks.
This unlocked version of the ASUS ZenFone AR is compatible with GSM networks like AT&T, T-Mobile, and their MVNOs. Amazon notes that it won’t work with Verizon, Sprint, or U.S. Cellular, so if you’re on one of those CDMA carriers, this isn’t the phone for you.
The ASUS ZenFone AR is notable because it’s the first phone to include support for both Google’s Tango AR and Daydream VR platforms. It’s a pretty high-end phone when it comes to raw specs, too, boasting a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 AMOLED display, 23-megapixel rear camera, Snapdragon 821 processor, microSD slot, and 3300mAh battery.
