When it comes to Android updates, much of the focus lately has been turned to Android 7.0 Nougat. There are still some devices receiving their Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates, though, and HTC today announced two of them.
HTC’s Mo Versi says that the T-Mobile and MetroPCS versions of the Desire 626s will be updated to Android 6.0 starting July 25. T-Mobile says that it started pushing the update back on July 19, so some folks may have gotten it already.
As for what’s included in this 835MB update, there’s the update to Android 6.0, which will bring goodies like Google Now on Tap and Doze battery optimizations. Versi says that enhanced messaging (RCS) will be included, too, so there’s another feature for Desire 626s owners to look forward to.
We haven’t heard much about the Desire 626s since its launch one year ago, so it’s nice to see the phone pop back up on our radar thanks to an Android 6.0 update. If you decided to make the Desire 626s your daily driver, keep an eye out for your serving of Marshmallow!
