Over the past year or so, security updates have become a major focus on Android, with Google and several device makers pledging to release monthly security updates to their devices. With the release of two new flagships around the corner, Moto has issued a statement about security updates for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.
Moto says that both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will receive patches from the Android Security Bulletins. In fact, both phones are slated to be updated “shortly” after they launch at Verizon on July 28.
Here’s Moto’s full statement to Android Central:
“Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be supported with patches from Android Security Bulletins. They will receive an update shortly after launch with additional patches.”
Many people rely on their phones to communicate with others and hold personal information like email, contacts, and photos, so it’s important to keep them secure. It’s good to hear that Moto plans on keeping the Z and Z Force updated with security patches, especially because they’re Moto’s two new flagship phones. Moto doesn’t specify if it’ll push these patches out monthly or not, but here’s to hoping that they’re released quickly and regularly.
