When OnePlus announced the OnePlus 3, it said that its new Android flagship would be available in two colors: Graphite and Soft Gold. If you navigate to the OnePlus 3’s store page, though, only the Graphite model is available. Thanks to Carl Pei, we now know when the Soft Gold version will be available, too.
The OnePlus co-founder has revealed that the Soft Gold OnePlus 3 will launch in July. Specifically — or not so specifically — Pei says that the golden OP3 will arrive “some time in the latter part of July.” So if you’ve got your eye on the Soft Gold OnePlus 3, you’ve got another month or month and a half of waiting ahead of you.

While it’s kind of disappointing that we’ll have to wait at least another month for the Soft Gold OnePlus 3 to launch, at least OnePlus didn’t keep that model a secret until its July arrival. If it had, I’m sure that there would be some folks frustrated that they bought a Graphite OnePlus 3 but would prefer a Soft Gold model. Now those people know when the golden OP3 will launch, and they can patiently wait for it to pop up on OnePlus’s virtual shelves.
