Lots of folks are getting excited for the start of Game of Thrones season six later this month, and today Verizon kicked off a promotion that could let you watch the new GoT for free.
Starting today, Verizon will give you a free three-month subscription to HBO Now if you switch to its network from another carrier or upgrade to a new device. Specifically, you’ll need to upgrade or activate a new line on a smartphone payment plan or two-year contract.
HBO Now typically costs $14.99 per month, so this deal could save you $45 per month. And if you’re not a Game of Thrones fan, you can still benefit, as an HBO Now subscription will give you access to all of HBO’s other shows as well as the catalog of movies that it’s offering at that time. So if you’ve been thinking about upgrading or adding a line on your Verizon account or making the switch to the big red carrier, now could be the time to do it.
Verizon also notes that if you upgrade or activate a new phone on a Verizon Plan XL (12GB for $80 per month) or larger, you’ll get an extra 2GB of data every month as long as your line remains active on an XL or higher plan.
