LG’s trickle of teases ahead of the G5’s debut continues tonight with a sound-focused announcement.
LG says that it has teamed up with Bang & Olufsen to offer “an enhanced high-quality audio experience” on the G5. Specifically, LG has partnered with the B&O PLAY branch of Bang & Olufsen, which focuses on products aimed at quality and design-conscious consumers. Exactly what LG and B&O PLAY are collaborating on isn’t mentioned.
This isn’t the first time that LG has focused on offering a a quality audio experience on its smartphones. For example, the LG V10 offers a 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC that upsamples audio. Exactly what LG and B&O PLAY have planned for the G5 will be a mystery until February 21, but a recent leak suggested that LG will offer a a DAC module for the G5’s Magic Slot that’ll bring improved sound to LG’s new flagship phone.
