One of the most interesting rumored features of the LG G5 is its Magic Slot, which is expected to let you detach the bottom of the phone and attach a module that’ll add a special feature. Before you add any modules, though, you’ll get just a bottom piece with the G5’s battery attached. And today a photo of that piece has leaked.
A photo that claims to show the packaging for LG G5’s removable battery has been posted to Chinese social networking site Weibo. The bottom piece looks similar to the one that we saw on that LG G5 that surfaced earlier this week, and then there’s a large green battery with “G5” branding on it.
Two of the other modules that are rumored to be coming with the LG G5 are the LG Cam Plus, which includes hardware camera controls and an additional 1100mAh battery, and an LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play that will add a digital audio chip (DAC) for improved audio. This Magic Slot feature could help the G5 stand out in the crowded smartphone market, and it’ll be interesting to see not only what other modules LG offers, but if consumers find the Magic Slot feature useful enough to be a G5 and invest in modules.
LG will officially show the G5 and its Magic slot on February 21.
