Oppo puts most of its Android devices into families of devices, like the “R” and “N” groups. Today Oppo announced that it’s got another new family of devices that’ll debut later this month.
The Oppo F series will be a mid-range, photography-focused family of devices, with the F1 launching later this month in several international markets. The full spec details for the Oppo F1 haven’t yet been revealed, but Oppo says that the F series phones will have “impressive specs, eye-catching style and amazing prices.”
The “affordable flagship” category of phones is perhaps the fastest-growing in mobile right now, and there’s some pretty fierce competition from the likes of the Moto X Pure Edition and OnePlus 2. While it remains to be seen if Oppo’s F series will go toe-to-toe with those types of phones, they’re still worth keeping in mind when releasing new hardware that places a focus on price. For now we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of features the Oppo F1 has to offer, but with Oppo’s promise of a photography-focused handset at an “amazing price,” the F1 might be worth keeping an eye out for.
