Verizon and Motorola are hosting a DROID event in exactly one week, but before then, Verizon has dropped its first official teaser for the shindig.
Over on Twitter, Verizon has posted a brief video that shows the back of an unannounced DROID smartphone spinning as it falls to the concrete. The clip ends by saying “The new Droid is dropping soon,” and attached to the Tweet is a message that reads “Introducing the perfect phone for imperfect people.”

Verizon appears to be teasing the DROID Turbo 2, which is rumored to come with “the world’s first shatterproof screen.” Other rumored specs for the Turbo 2 include a 5.43-inch 2560x1440 display, Snapdragon 810 processor, 21-megapixel rear camera, and a 3750mAh battery. It’s also rumored that you’ll be able to customize the Turbo 2 through Moto Maker, complete with leather and ballistic nylon backs.
Verizon and Motorola will hold their new DROID event on October 27.
