We’re now less than two weeks out from the official debut of the OnePlus 2, and the spec trickle is shows no signs of stopping. This time, though, it’s not OnePlus that’s doing the revealing.
Popular YouTuber Marques Brownlee, aka MKBHD, has posted a video review of the OnePlus 2’s camera. MKBHD was given the phone by OnePlus to test out its camera capabilities, and after putting the phone to the test, he found that the camera is “pretty solid so far.” Colors were found to be accurate, the camera performed ok in low light, and it focused quickly. Overall, MKBHD said that it’s not the best smartphone camera around, but that the OnePlus 2’s shooter “doesn’t suck.”
During his review, MKBHD also dropped a few spec details about the OnePlus 2’s camera. The shooter has a 13-megapixel sensor and captured most photos at an f/2.0 aperture. Also included is laser auto focus for quick focusing, support for 4K video capture, and 720p slo-mo video recording.
Overall it sounds like the OnePlus 2 has a fairly respectable camera. It may not be the best smartphone camera ever, but it ought to produce good enough shots in most situations. Of course, we’ll have to reserve any final judgments on the OnePlus 2’s camera performance until the phone is actually released.
