The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaks that we’ve seen thus far have focused on the unannounced Android phone’s specs, but a new leak switches focus to the device’s design.
French site Nowhere Else has posted a video of what it claims to be a CAD file that shows the design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The leak shows a device that looks similar to the Galaxy Note 4 at first glance, meaning that it looks like a big ol’ slab of an Android phone with rounded corners, a physical home button and an S Pen stylus slot.
Upon closer examination, this alleged Galaxy Note 5 appears to have borrowed some design touches from the Galaxy S6. The Note 5’s speaker holes appear to have been moved to the bottom of the device, where they are on the S6, and the camera flash has shifted from below the rear camera to its side. It also looks as though the Note 5 ditches the fake leather rear covers found on the Note 3 and Note 4.
One other detail that’s worth noting is that the Note 5 depicted in today’s leak suggests that the device will sport a 5.7-inch display, just like the Note 3 and Note 4 before it. The Galaxy Note phones are some of Samsung’s biggest handsets — both in terms of size and popularity — and so there’s a lot of anticipation around the Note 5. While today’s leak doesn’t hint a major design overhaul for the Note 5, it could bring several smaller touches that make the new Note an appealing upgrade.
Samsung typically unveils its new Note smartphones in late August or early September, and so the Note 5 might be just a couple of months away. What do you think of the look of this alleged Galaxy Note 5?
