Like it did with the OnePlus One last year, OnePlus has slowly been trickling out details of its new OnePlus 2 ahead of the device’s VR debut on July 27. OnePlus isn’t the only one that’s dropping details on the OnePlus 2, though.
An entry for a new OnePlus phone has appeared in the database of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG), and with the OnePlus 2 slated to debut in just a few weeks, it’s likely that the phone at the Bluetooth SIG is the 2. Interestingly, there are three models in the listing: A2001, A2003, and A2005. The OnePlus One’s model number is A0001.
So what might the three OnePlus 2 variants be? Different storage capacities is one possibility. We’ve seen companies like Apple and Samsung offer three different storage capacities for their flagship smartphones, giving customers plenty of options when it comes to storage and price. OnePlus could be planning a similar strategy in order to give consumers plenty of options when buying a OnePlus 2, especially since the 2 is expected to cost more than the One.
