If you haven’t gotten Android 5.1 on your Moto X (2nd Gen.) yet, well, it should be arriving soon. The update is now in full deployment mode in the US, says Motorola’s David Schuster, meaning that anyone rocking a Moto X (2nd Gen.) Pure Edition should now be getting Android 5.1.
The Android 5.1 update for the Moto X (2nd Gen.) adds a handful of goodies, including the ability to select Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks from Quick Settings, the ability to swipe away a heads-up notification, and bug fixes. Also included is a new Moto Action that’ll let you make a chopping motion with your phone twice to activate your flashlight.
Motorola’s gained a reputation for being good about Android updates in recent years, and it’s good to see the company continuing to treat its phones and users right with major OS updates. If you’ve got a Moto X (2nd Gen.) Pure Edition that hasn’t yet been updated to Android 5.1, grab that thing and head into Settings > About phone > System updates > “Yes, I’m in” and get to updating!
