Following last week’s string of flash sales, the OnePlus One has now gotten a permanent price cut.
OnePlus today announced that the OnePlus One has permanently had its pricing reduced by $50, meaning that the 16GB Silk White model costs $249 and the 64GB Sandstone Black version is $299. Those are the same prices that we saw in last week’s flash sales, which OnePlus says was a “great success.” Now, thanks to more efficient operations and lower costs for components and engineering, OnePlus says that it can permanently cut the price of the One.
While the OnePlus One is starting to get a little old, at least for a smartphone, it’s still got a respectable feature set that includes a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera. The One has always been pretty affordable, but this new $249 starting price makes it even easier on the wallet and could make the device an impulse buy for some folks that’ve been interested in checking out the OPO but haven’t yet managed to pull the trigger.
Along with this price cut, OnePlus has revealed a new partnership with Dropbox. A new bundle deal will launch on June 10 that includes a 64GB OnePlus One and one year of Dropbox Pro for $349, which used to get you just the 64GB OnePlus One. Dropbox Pro includes 1TB of cloud storage. OnePlus says that this bundle will be available for a limited time and that it’ll be available in the US, Canada, and the EU.
