Last month Oppo introduced us to the R7 Plus, a new Android phone with a ginormous 6-inch display. Fast-forward a few weeks and Oppo has announced two more devices, but unlike the R7 Plus, you’ll be able to comfortably use them with one hand.

The Neo 5 and Neo 5s are Oppo’s two latest Android handsets, and as their names might suggest, they two phones share a lot of the same specs. Both feature a 4.5-inch 854x480 touchscreen and 2-megapixel camera on their face, as well as an 8-megapixel camera on their rear. Inside of their 8mm-thick bodies live 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 1GB of RAM, and 2000mAh batteries.

So what’s different between these two phones? The processor powering them, for one. The Neo 5 has a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor at its core, while the Neo 5s is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410. Additionally, the Neo 5s includes 4G LTE connectivity, something that the Neo 5 lacks.

On the software side of things, both the Neo 5 and Neo 5s are powered by Android 4.4.2 KitKat running beneath Oppo’s ColorOS 2.0.1. Oppo’s custom user interface also includes camera tweaks like plug-ins for features like panorama, GIF, and Beautify, as well as support for gestures that can activate features while the device’s screen is off. For example, you can draw a circle to jump directly to the camera app.

There’s no word yet on where the Neo 5 or Neo 5s will launch or how much they’ll cost when they do. Considering their lower-end specs, though, they shouldn’t be too hard on your wallet. And while their feature sets may not blow your hair back with raw performance, the phones do have a respectable design and 4.5-inch screens, something that we’re seeing less and less of lately.
