When Google sold Motorola to Lenovo, El Goog decided to hold on to the ATAP division that’s responsible for Project Ara. Now it looks like Google and ATAP kept another piece of Moto called Spotlight Stories.
Google has released a new Spotlight Stories app onto Google Play. The app includes the three animated shorts that were previously only available on Motorola devices, as well as a new live-action video called “Help.” You don’t have to just sit back and watch the 5-minute video, though, because you can also move your phone around to look at different parts of the scenes.
Spotlight Stories is now available for download, and it requires Android 4.2 or higher. Google says that the app isn’t yet compatible with all smartphones, but that it’s working hard to support additional hardware. The app is free for a limited time.
Obviously Spotlight Stories isn’t some huge new feature that’s going to change the lives of Android fans everywhere, but it’s nice to see Google make the app available to more people. If you want to check the stories out for yourself, hit up the Google Play link below.
