Xiaomi originally gave us a peek at the souped-up Mi Note Pro back in January, but at that time, only a handful of the device’s specs had been revealed. Today the Mi Note Pro’s full feature set has been outed along with its final price and release date.
The Mi Note Pro is one of the most high-end Android smartphones that we’ve seen to date. It’s got a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 display with 2.5D curved glass on its front and 3D curved glass on its rear. Xiaomi is also touting the Mi Note Pro’s Sunlight Display tech, which helps to make the screen more readable outdoors. The Mi Note Pro also offers a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and Sony IMX214 sensor as well as a 4-megapixel front camera with 2-micron pixels for good low-light performance.
Packed inside of the Mi Note Pro’s two glass panels lives an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, and Xiaomi says that it’s applied five thermal-related patents to the Mi Note Pro to combat the 810’s “heating issues.” After 20 minutes of gaming, Xiaomi says that the Mi Note Pro measured 36.3 degrees Celsius (97.4 Fahrenheit). Also inside the Mi Note Pro is 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 4G LTE, HiFi audio for quality audio playback, and a 3090mAh battery. Xiaomi has included Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 tech that’ll give the Mi Note Pro’s battery a 70 percent charge in one hour.
The Mi Note Pro will launch on mi.com on May 12 at a price of RMB 2999 ($483 USD), which is RMB 300 less than the price that we were given back in January.
So yeah, the Mi Note Pro is one of the beefiest smartphones around, and its price is pretty good for what you’re getting. Like most other Xiaomi products, though, it’s unlikely that the Mi Note Pro will hit store shelves outside of China. At least Xiaomi has provided plenty of images of the Mi Note Pro for those of us outside of China to drool over.
