If you want an Apple Watch but still haven’t managed to strap one onto your wrist, it may soon become a bit easier to get a unit.
Apple’s online store shows that the company is getting ready to start letting customers buy an Apple Watch online and then pick the unit up at a nearby Apple Store. After selecting an Apple Watch and continuing to checkout, you’re presented with a “Pick up” option that’ll let you pay for your Watch online and then pick it up at an Apple Store with stock. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any stores with Apple Watch stock quite yet.
Ever since Apple Watch pre-orders went live on April 10, the device has only been available for purchase online. A leaked memo from Angela Ahrendts, Apple SVP of Retail and Online Sales, suggested that the Watch’s online-only availability might continue through May, but it looks like Apple may soon lift that restriction. The Apple Watch may still be a bit difficult to come by even when the In-store Pickup option goes live, but hey, even limited in-store availability is better than none at all.
