You may not have heard about Google’s Field Trip app, but today El Goog has given you a reason to check it out.
Field Trip for Android has been updated with a “new sleek & modern design,” which translates into a Material Design look. While the update certainly makes the app fit in nicely with Android 5.0, it also loses a bit of that field trip-y, adventurous feeling that the original app had.
Other tweaks included in this v2.0.5 update are performance improvements and new content from “hundreds” of publishers. Google’s Niantic Labs has also made it easier for you to discover and browse things around you.
Kudos to Google for continuing to update its apps with its new Material Design language, even ones that aren’t exactly well-known. And while some might lament this design change, I’m sure that Field Trip users are glad to be getting new content and better performance.
