The Snapdragon 810 is Qualcomm’s new hotness, and we’ll likely see it in several flagship smartphones throughout 2015. If you’re a spec hound, though, you’ve now got an even higher-end chip to keep on your radar.
A document leaked by the @leaksfly Twitter account has allegedly revealed information on a number of upcoming Qualcomm processors. There are quad-core and octa-core chips included that support LTE-Advanced, LPDDR4 RAM, and lots of other goodies.
On the high-end we can see Snapdragon 815 and 820 chips. The former’s got an octa-core SoC with Big.Little architecture, Adreno 450 GPU, LPDDR4 RAM, LTE-A support, and 20nm process. The step up is the Snapragon 820, which is a 64-bit octa-core processor with an Adreno 530 GPU, LPDDR4 RAM, LTE-A support, and a 14nm process.
Unfortunately, while this document may shed light on Qualcomm’s upcoming processors, it doesn’t say when they’ll be released. The Snapdragon 820 certainly sounds like a beast of a chip, though, and while it’s not really a surprise that Qualcomm may be working on that kind of powerhouse, it’s still pretty exciting.
