Following the debut of the entry-level Lumia 535, Microsoft’s affordable Windows Phone push is continuing today with two new smartphones.
First up, we’ve got the Lumia 435, which is packing a 4-inch 800x480 LCD screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, VGA front and 2-megapixel fixed focus rear cameras, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a microSD slot that supports cards up to 128GB in size. The Lumia 435 is powered by Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim as well as a 1560mAh battery. The Lumia 435 will be sold in single SIM and dual SIM models.
Moving one step up is the Lumia 532, which will also be available in single SIM and dual SIM variants. The Lumia 532’s got a 4-inch 800x480 LCD screen, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, VGA front and 5-megapixel fixed focus rear cameras, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a microSD slot that supports cards up to 128GB. Like the Lumia 435, the Lumia 532’s got Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim and a 1560mAh battery.
Microsoft says that the Lumia 435 and the Lumia 532 will launch in February in select countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, and the Middle East. Pricing will be set at 69 euros ($81 USD) for the Lumia 435 and 79 euros ($93 USD) for the Lumia 532.
These new Windows Phone devices are super affordable and should serve Microsoft’s effort to infiltrate emerging markets well. The Lumia 432 is easy on the wallet yet still provides a connected smartphone experience, while the Lumia 532 is a nice step up that has a quad-core processor rather than a dual-core as well as an upgraded camera, all for just a few bucks more.
