After announcing its own 6000mAh portable battery back in early October, Microsoft today finally released the DC-21 to the public.

The Microsoft Portable Power DC-21 external battery is now available in the Redmond firm’s online store for $49.99. For that price you’ll get a 6000mAh battery in green, orange, or white.

Microsoft says that the DC-21 will keep its full charge for “months,” and that after six months, it’ll retain 80 percent of its full charge. It’s also worth noting that you can charge the DC-21 while using it to charge a smartphone, with priority going to the phone.

You can certainly get other, larger external battery packs for less than Microsoft’s Portable Power DC-21, but the appeal of this product is its quality design, bright colors that can match your Lumia smartphone, and the Microsoft name.
