Time for another Google Play edition device to get its Lollipop update. This time it’s a phone with a Motorola logo on its backside.
The Moto G Google Play edition is now receiving its over the air update to Android 5.0.1. Yep, that’s 5.0.1, no plain ol’ 5.0. Interestingly, the build that’s going out is LRX21Z, which is slightly older than the LRX22C build that’s been hitting other phones and tablets lately. It’s still Android 5.0.1, though.
The update weighs in at 379.5MB in size and should hit your Moto G GPe soon if it hasn’t already. Of course, if you’re the impatient type, you can grab the OTA update from the folks at Android Police and flash it right now.
The Moto G GPe isn’t the most high-end Nexus or GPe device around, but that hasn’t stopped it from getting Lollipop before many of its peers. Kudos to Google and Motorola for getting Android 5.0.1 to the Moto G GPe in a quick manner.
