Microsoft has been bolstering its multi-platform mobile efforts in a big way lately. For example, it released several “Garage” apps for Android, including a voice search app for Android Wear. Today the folks in Redmond continued to increase its presence on non-Windows Phone platforms by launching several of its apps on iOS and Android.
Microsoft’s MSN suite of apps are now available on Android, iOS and in the Amazon Appstore. The MSN app pack includes News, Weather, Sports, Money, Health & Fitness and Food & Drink, though it’s worth noting that Weather isn’t yet available on iOS. It’s expected that Weather will hit Apple’s platform “in the next few months.”
The MSN apps will work across most of your devices, including Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad, Amazon Kindle Fire tablets and the Amazon Fire phone. Microsoft says that your user information will sync across devices as well by using your Microsoft Account.
Making apps available to users on multiple platforms is always good because it expands the user base, has the chance to get more users into your services and gives users more choice. That’s why it’s nice to see Microsoft launch its MSN suite of apps on iOS.
