Jonesing for more photos of that Lumia 1020-like Windows Phone device that leaked out last month? I’ve got plenty of ‘em for you this morning.
A cornucopia of photos of the Windows Phone 8.1 device codenamed McLaren have leaked on Chinese site Baidu. The images show the RM-1052/McLaren from just about every angle imaginable and compare it with an iPhone 6.
The RM-1052/McLaren looks to have an aluminum body with a polycarbonate strip at its bottom for improved cell signal. The phone is rumored to include a 5-inch 1920x1080 screen, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a microSD card slot. The device’s rear camera is said to be of the 20-megapixel variety with a dual-LED flash and PureView branding.
While the RM-1052/McLaren may not be a “true” Lumia 1020 successor, it looks like a quality smartphone that’d likely be a solid addition to the Windows Phone family. Unfortunately, the phone is said to have been canceled, so it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see it in store shelves and our hands. Here’s to hoping that Microsoft takes elements from the McLaren and implements them into a new phone that will be released to the public.
