Tablets with cellular connectivity typically carry a bit of a premium price compared to their Wi-Fi-only siblings, but today Amazon is bucking that trend with some nice discounts on its Kindle Fire HDX slates.

Amazon is now offering two versions of the 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX with built-in 4G LTE connectivity for 50 percent or more off of their typical prices. The 16GB model is priced at $139, down from $279, while the 64GB version has been marked down from $339 to $159.

Both of these tablets feature 7-inch 1920x1200 screens, 2.2GHz quad-core processors, dual stereo speakers, front-facing cameras and batteries that are expected to get around 11 hours of use. It’s worth noting that both models include Special Offers, which are ads for “limited-time special offers” from Amazon that’ll show up on your device’s lock screen. You can disable Special Offers for a one-time fee.

The Kindle Fire HDX tablet’s run a special version of Android focused on Amazon services. As such, you’ll need to get content and apps from the Amazon and the Amazon Appstore. If that’s just fine with you, then these are some pretty awesome deals on tablets that you can connect to AT&T or Verizon’s 4G LTE networks if you need connectivity while away from Wi-Fi.
