Well, that didn’t take long. Just days after we spied the HTC Desire 612 on Verizon’s equipment guide support site, the big red carrier has made the 612 officially official.
Verizon just announced that the HTC Desire 612 will launch this Thursday, October 9. Pricing will be set at free with a two-year contract.
According to Verizon, the Android 4.4-powered Desire 612 boasts a 4.7-inch “HD” display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of storage, microSD slot with support for cards up to 128GB in size, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, XLTE connectivity and a 2040mAh battery. The Desire 612 also packs front-facing BoomSound speakers.
The Desire 612 looks like a nice option for folks that want a quality smartphone without spending a ton of cash. The 612’s build quality looks nice, it’s got the latest version of Android and a set of BoomSound speakers, which ought to make watching videos and playing games a pleasurable experience.
