We only had to wait three days after we got our first early peek at the LG G Watch R before the Life’s Good crew gave us the official rundown on the device. The only problem? LG didn’t disclose any launch or pricing info. That’s finally changing today.
LG has revealed to the Wall Street Journal that the G Watch R will launch on Oct. 14. It didn’t say which markets the G Watch R will initially be available in, though. When it comes to pricing, LG would only say that the G Watch R will be more expensive than the G Watch, which retails for $229.
With its round, stainless steel frame and calf skin leather band, it’s no surprise to hear that the LG G Watch R will be pricier than the LG G Watch, which has a plastic body and rubber band. Exactly how much more those premium materials will cost remains to be seen, but it’ll be interesting to see how much more consumers are willing to pay for a more watch-like Android Wear watch.
