Hot on the heels of its announcement of Android L, Google offered up more details on its Android Wear platform.

Google says that Android Wear will display information from Google Now, apps from a connected phone and apps running on the wearable itself. Users can navigate Android wear by swiping up and down to switch between cards and left and right to switch between pages in an app.

You can also swipe away a notification on Android Wear, just like you would on an Android phone. Notifications that are swiped away on the wearable will be dismissed from the connected phone as well.

If you get a phone call while wearing Android Wear, you’ll be able to answer or ignore the call directly from your wrist. You can also send a quick-reply SMS. And if you don’t want to be disturbed at all, you can enable Do Not Disturb on your Android Wear device by swiping down from the top of its display.

Other features demoed with Android Wear include music playback, complete with album art and playback controls, as well as a step counter and step history for the week.

So what about Android Wear hardware? Both the LG G Watch and the new Samsung Gear Live (shown below) will be available to pre-order from the Play Store later today. The round-faced Moto 360 will be available later this summer.
