Need some help to get over this hump day? The rumor mill is happy to oblige, sharing images that may show off two upcoming Samsung smartphones.
First up, TK Tech News has posted a photo of what’s said to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Google Play edition in the wild. The device first popped up on our radar thanks to a Google Play store listing that appeared at the end of April. The unit shown in this photo is different from the white model that showed up in the Play Store, but outside of that color difference, the two phones look the same.
The second image comes to us from @evleaks. It purportedly shows the “Samsung Galaxy F,” which is rumored to be the Prime version of the Galaxy S5 that’s been floating around the rumor mill for a while now. While the Galaxy F has a design that’s similar to the Galaxy S5, its backside has a brushed metal look instead of the dimpled pattern found on the regular S5.
The Galaxy F/Galaxy S5 Prime is rumored to feature a 5.2-inch 2560x1440 display, which is a big larger and higher-res than the 5.1-inch 1920x1080 panel found on the Galaxy S5. It also looks to have a bit more of a premium design than is un-Prime sibling. Of course, this device is still very much unconfirmed at this point, but it’s certainly possible that Samsung could opt to offer a premium version of its flagship smartphone in response to the LG G3 and its super high-res display.
