PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings (OSR) has moved onto week 111 and the HTC One (M8) showing no signs of slowing down, topping both the People’s Choice and Experts’ Choice lists. After two weeks on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S5 gained major ground this week and moved into second place on the experts’ list and third with the fans. Will features like its 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display and 16-megapixel camera send the S5 further up the charts?
MT PLEASANT, SC – April 25, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) is the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts. Since week 108, the HTC One (M8) took over the top spot and has remained there for 4 weeks. Earning 172 votes from the people, the One (M8) the clear front runner this week over the second place Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which earned 46 votes. Taking third for the first time is the Samsung Galaxy S5 and its 37 votes, followed by the HTC One (M7) with 32 votes and the LG G2 with 24 votes.
Staying in place with our mobile tech experts, the HTC One (M8) gathered 41 points to maintain its first place position while the Samsung Galaxy S5 earned 30 points and jumped two spots up the charts from last week to finish second. Taking third this week is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with 29 points, which means the Apple iPhone 5s dropped two spots to fourth, earning a total of 20 points. The number 5 smartphone for the week was the LG Nexus 5 with 13 points.
