Got a naked Nexus 5 or Nexus 7? Cover that thing up! Google today kicked off a promotion that knocks 25 percent off the price of cases for both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Nexus 5 owners can select either a bumper case in black, gray, yellow or red for $26.24 each or an LG QuickCover in black or white for $37.49.

Meanwhile, owners of Google's newest Nexus tablet have three different cases to choose from. The Nexus 7 Sleeve is the cheapest of the bunch, coming in at $22.49 for a zippered sleeve that's available in black, gray, yellow or red. Then there's the Nexus 7 Case with microfiber cover and built in stand that's available in black, gray, white/blue and white/red for $37.49. Rounding out the bunch is the Nexus 7 Folio that consists of a black or red bumper case with a trifold cover attached that can double as a stand. The Nexus 7 Folio is priced at $37.49, but as of this writing, only the red version is in stock.

The merits of case ownership is a hotly-debated topic in mobile, with some consumers opting to let their devices roam caseless to allow their true design to show, while others prefer to cover their phone or tablet in a shell meant to protect their expensive gadget. Obviously this Google sale isn't going to appeal to the former crowd, but for anyone that feels like shielding their Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 from the outside world, now seems like a pretty good time to grab some new duds for your device.
