Remember when Google officially acquired Quickoffice earlier this year? Well today's the day that we're all benefitting from the purchase, as Google has announced that it's making the Android and iOS versions of Quickoffice available for free starting today. And just in case the word "free" isn't enough to get you to check the Quickoffice apps out, Google is also giving away 10GB of free Google Drive storage for two years to any users that sign in to the Android or iOS Quickoffice apps with their Google account by Sept. 26.
The ability to edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents on the go isn't necessarily something that every smartphone owner needs, but for those that do, the prospect of getting a free app that's capable of that functionality on both Android and iOS is pretty sweet. Getting 10GB of additional Google Drive space along with the app certainly doesn't hurt, either.
The Android version of Quickoffice weighs in at 17MB in size and requires Android 2.2 or higher, while the iOS app weighs in at 59.8MB and requires iOS 5.0 or later. You can snag both of them at the Google Play and App Store links below.
