A crowd favorite for many months, the Galaxy Note II offers a quad-core processor and availability on multiple carriers. MT PLEASANT, SC – September 3, 2013 – For 78 weeks, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has been the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week. Last week, the HTC One held the first place positions on both the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts, garnering a total of 287 reader votes and 40 expert points. With a recent launch on Verizon Wireless and the introduction of a “vivid blue” color variant, HTC’s One continues to succeed domestically as well as globally.
Due in part to the excitement around Samsung’s Unpacked event in Berlin, the Galaxy Note II held its second place on the People’s Choice chart with 76 votes, bypassing the Samsung Galaxy S 4 for a second week. Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S smartphone remained in third place on the People’s Choice chart with 59 votes, while the Apple iPhone 5 rose to fourth place with 51 votes. In the fifth place position on the People’s Choice chart, the Nokia Lumia 1020, garnering a total of 36 votes. On the Expert’s Choice Chart, the Apple iPhone 5 held the second place spot with 33 points, while the Samsung Galaxy S 4 landed in third place with 30 points. In fourth place, the Moto X with 23 points, and in fifth place, the Nokia Lumia 1020 with 12 points.
