It's been quite a while since U.S. Cellular originally voiced its support for Windows Phone 8, but today there's finally some more good news for anyone on that carrier that's patiently been waiting for the arrival of a WP8 device. Responding to a request for Windows Phone products on its Facebook page, a carrier representative said that U.S. Cellular is getting ready to launch "a Windows 8 device" and that it hopes to share more information next month. U.S. Cellular later confirmed to Engadget that the rep was referring to a Windows Phone 8 product.
U.S. Cellular hasn't exactly offered a huge selection of Windows Phone hardware since the platform's launch, having only released the HTC 7 Pro in mid-2011 and the ZTE Render in late 2012. Because of that, it's good to hear that U.S. Cellular will be adding a new Windows Phone 8 product to its shelves soon. Exactly what the phone is and what its spec sheet looks like will have to remain a mystery for now, but considering how few and far-between U.S. Cellular's previous Windows Phone launches have been, I'm betting that most Windows Phone fans on U.S. Cellular are just glad that a new piece of Windows Phone 8 hardware is headed their way.
