Earlier this year, the rumor mill suggested that Apple is planning to change up the look of its full-size iPad this year, giving the 9.7-inch tablet a look that more closely resembles the iPad mini and its narrower side bezels. Now two photos have made their way online that claim to show the front of the fifth-generation iPad, complete with side bezels that are reminiscent of those found on Apple's 7.9-inch iPad mini. The photos, posted by French site Nowhereelse.fr, show a white front panel with cutouts for a Facetime camera as well as a home button.
It's certainly been a while since the last time that Apple gave its full-size iPad a makeover, with the last major redesign coming with the iPad 2 in early 2011. Considering both that and the new look that the iPad mini sports, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Apple refresh its 9.7-inch iPad to include a look similar to the smaller iPad, chamfered edges and all. Whether or not these photos actually show the front panel of the iPad 5 remains to be seen, as it's possible that this could be a knockoff based off of the rumors that've been floating around since January. We'll just have to wait for Tim Cook and Co. to show the fifth-gen iPad off on stage before we know for sure. What do you think of the panel in these leaked images? Would you like the new iPad to look like this?
