Verizon yesterday announced that the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 would be available for pre-order on November 9. My calendar has confirmed that that date is today, and after moseying on over to Verizon's website, those two Windows Phone handsets are indeed ready to be pre-ordered. The big red carrier isn't quite ready to talk concrete launch dates for either model yet, but as noted by Engadget, Verizon does have estimated ship dates for pre-orders. The black and blue versions of the Windows Phone 8X are listed as shipping "by 11/13," while the red variant is showing "by 11/21." Meanwhile, all three models of Lumia 822 (black, gray and white) should ship "by 11/13."
While these estimated ship dates aren't quite the same as an actual launch date, they do give us an idea of when we can expect to see the Windows Phone 8X and Lumia 822 begin to make their way into the hands of Windows Phone-hungry Verizon customers. These product pages have also revealed the full retail pricing for both the 8X and Lumia 822 for those customers unwilling to sign a two-year contract, like anyone still clinging to an unlimited data plan. The 8X will cost $549.99 without a contract while the Lumia 822 will be $449.99 sans commitment. So, any of you Big Red customers planning to celebrate the end of Verizon's Windows Phone drought with a Windows Phone 8X or Lumia 822 pre-order?
