The LG Optimus L9 was officially introduced by T-Mobile earlier this month, and while the magenta carrier was happy to talk specs at that time, the only availability details that it opted to drop was that the L9 would be launching this fall. Today T-Mo finally spilled the beans, announcing that the Optimus L9 will be available on October 31, just as a recent leak showed. Pricing for the handset will be set at $79.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract for Classic plan customers, while Value plan folk can expect to pony up $49.99 with 20 monthly Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) payments of $15 each.
As a quick refresher, the LG Optimus L9 touts a 4.5-inch qHD (960x540) display and 5-megapixel camera as well as a 2,150mAh battery and 1GHz dual-core processor buried inside its body. The L9 will come preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will also feature support for mobile hotspot and Wi-Fi Calling. With a spec sheet like that, the Optimus L9 looks like it could be an option for folks that want an Android smartphone with a large display but without a large price tag.
