Been hankering for some fresh QWERTY action on Sprint? Your wait is nearly over, friend, as Sprint has announced that the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE will be launching on August 19, just as we heard last week. The Photon Q will be priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract, and customers that want to guarantee that they get a handset can pre-order the Photon Q on Sprint's website today. Sprint says that pre-order customers will begin receiving their devices as early as two days before the Photon Q's launch date.
As a quick reminder, the Photon Q 4G LTE packs a 4.3-inch qHD (540x960) ColorBoost display and a camera on its face, as well as an 8-megapixel shooter around back. Buried inside the Photon Q is a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8GB storage, 1GB RAM, embedded SIM card for global roaming, 1,785mAh non-removable battery and NFC support. Oh yeah, and there's that five-row QWERTY keyboard. The Android 4.0.4-powered Photon Q also supports Sprint's 4G LTE network, and it's good to see Hesse and Co. build out their LTE product lineup, especially since the device that they're adding packs a hardware keyboard for all of the QWERTY enthusiasts out there. So now that we know the Photon Q's launch date, how many of you are planning to treat yourself with a new smartphone this weekend?
