So far HTC has been the only manufacturer to release a Windows Phone handset on Verizon, but according to a Nokia executive, that'll be changing soon. In an interview with Neowin, Richard Kerris, Nokia's VP of Worldwide Developer Relations, said that "it won't be long" before a Nokia-made Windows Phone hits Verizon's shelves. Kerris didn't provide any details on which handset that may be or when the device(s) might be launching. During the same interview, Kerris also reaffirmed that Nokia's PureView camera technology will be coming to its Lumia line of Windows Phones, saying that a PureView-equipped Lumia will be happening "very soon."
The rumor mill has claimed in the past that a Nokia device was nearly released on Verizon, but the device was reportedly cut by Big Red due to a lack of LTE support, which is a feature that the carrier has described as "critical." While we're still in the dark as to what this Verizon-bound device that Kerris is referring to may be, the fact that more Windows Phone handsets are headed Big Red's way is exciting for fans of the platform. Verizon has previously said that it plans to support Windows Phone 8, with devices running the new OS expected by the end of this year.
