In the market for a new prepaid wireless service? Your list of choices will grow by one tomorrow morning, as Voyager Mobile has announced that it'll begin offering its prepaid services tomorrow morning. Voyager is a new MVNO that runs on Sprint's 3G and 4G WiMAX network, offering a couple of different plan options and a handful of Sprint devices. The plans that customers will be able to select when signing up for Voyager Mobile include a $19 unlimited talk and text plan and a $39 option that'll include unlimited talk, text and data. The carrier will also offer a "frequent talker program" dubbed Voyager Rewards, which will award customers that do a lot of talking on their phones with goodies like airline miles, gift cards, handset upgrades and free monthly service.
On the hardware side of things, Voyager Mobile says that it'll offer "most Android and Windows smartphones." That'll include devices like the Motorola XPRT, Motorola Photon 4G and Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. Other products that'll be joining Voyager's roster include a couple of USB sticks, a mobile hotspot and Android-powered tablets from companies like HTC and ZTE.
There are still some details about Voyager Mobile that we're missing, like how much customers can expect to pony up for the aforementioned devices. So far, though, Voyager sounds like it's worth looking into for folks interested in a new prepaid service, especially for the heavy talkers that could get some use out of the Voyager Rewards program. As I mentioned before, Voyager is going live tomorrow, May 15th, so it won't be long before more information is available. Voyager says that it'll be opening sales in 18 states once the countdown on its site reaches zero tomorrow, with availability spreading to other portions of the U.S. in the coming weeks. You can find Voyager's announcement below to help you pass the time until sales open up in your neck of the woods.
