Yesterday we learned that Voyager Mobile, a new MVNO operating on Sprint's network, was planning to launch a prepaid service this morning. The carrier even had a timer on its website counting down to the debut of its service, but now that clock has been replaced with a message explaining that its launch has been postponed. Voyager says that it has experienced a "malicious network attack" on its website that's forced it to delay its launch until a date in the "very near future."

Voyager Mobile plans to offer prepaid plans that start at $19 per month and a range of devices that includes the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch and Motorola Photon 4G. Also on tap is a program called Voyager Rewards, which will give frequent talkers gifts like airline miles and phone upgrades. Voyager Mobile was supposed to launch in 18 states today, but for now it looks like interested customers will have to continue to wait before they'll get the opportunity to give the service a go.
