If you're an ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime owner, you're likely well aware of the GPS complaints that have been surrounding the slate. ASUS has already publicly addressed the issue, saying that the Transformer Prime "is not a professional GPS device" and that its metallic body may affect the performance of the GPS, but that doesn't mean that the company isn't trying to make things better for existing Prime owners. A new software update has begun rolling out to Primes in the wild and, besides killing root access (though users have apparently been able to regain it), owners of the device have said that it bumps up the GPS software to version 6.9.13. The full changelog for the update isn't yet known.

So does this update actually make the Transformer Prime's GPS better? Well, the results seem to be a bit mixed so far. Some folks are reporting that they're getting a GPS signal where there was previously none, while others aren't seeing any changes. Prime owners that want to give this update a shot can check for it by going into Settings > About tablet > System updates.
