The Sprint device updates just keep on flowing. Hot on the heels of the introduction of an HTC EVO 3D maintenance update, Sprint today announced that updates for the HTC EVO 4G, EVO Design 4G and Samsung Epic 4G are also on the way. The full changelogs for all three handsets are as follows:
HTC EVO 4G Software Update - 4.67.651.3
Enhancements/Fixes:
HTC EVO Design 4G Software Update - 2.12.651.5
Enhancements/Fixes:
Samsung Epic™ 4G Software Update - EL30
Enhancements/Fixes:
There's no direct mention of Carrier IQ in Sprint's documentation, but considering that "Security Update" is listed in all three changelogs and was also present in the EVO 3D's recent upgrade, it's likely that the new updates also remove the Carrier IQ software on these handsets. As for when the upgrades will begin rolling out, EVO 4G and EVO Design 4G owners should be able to pull the update starting today, with notifications being sent out on January 24th. The Epic 4G's update will be rolled out in stages, with 100 percent of handsets expected to receive it within 10 days. Sound good? Good!
