Today Google released its Q4 2011 financial report and, although there's not a ton of Android-related information inside, the company did mention its little green robot a few times during its earnings call this afternoon. CEO Larry Page first touted the fact that Android is seeing 700,000 device activations daily, a figure that's the same as the one shared by Andy Rubin late last month. All of those activations have added up to 250 million total Android device activations to date, which is a jump of 50 million units compared to the number Google reported back in November. Finally, Page said that there have been 11 billion apps downloaded from the Android Market.
That's a whole lot of Androids, no? It's not a much of a surprise to hear that Android has continued growing as we exit 2011 and enter 2012, but the stats given by Google today are impressive nonetheless. We'll be sure to let you know if Google drops any other Android knowledge bombs during its earnings call. Until then, you can find the company's full Q4 2011 results at the source link below.
