It was just earlier this week that we caught our first peek at the Acer Iconia Tab A200 as it joined a family on a nice camping trip, but today the slate is back from its vacation and ready for its introduction. Acer today made the Iconia Tab A200 officially official and shared the device's feature list, which includes a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display, 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 16/32GB storage, microSD support, full-sized USB port, 3,260mAh battery, and Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Bummed about the A200's lack of Ice Cream Sandwich? Don't be, as Acer has said that an update to Google's latest dessert is expected in January. Shipments of the A200 began in some countries last month, but there's no mention in Acer's announcement of U.S. availability. As for pricing, Acer promises that the A200 will come at an "affordable price."
Overall the Iconia Tab A200 has the makings of a pretty average little tablet that should be pretty easy on the wallet, but the fact that Acer's planning to update it to Android 4.0 as soon as next month makes it a pretty attractive option for folks in the market for a new slate. Plus, if the promo video from Monday is any indication, the A200 could also make for a pretty nice camping companion if you don't feel like roughing it alone. More on the U.S. availability of the A200 as we get it.
