Hot on the heels of news that Verizon will be launching Motorola's new Xoom 2 DROID Xyboard tablets later this month, it's been revealed that accessories for the devices have begun making their way into Verizon retail stores. There's nothing particularly out of the ordinary about the accessories themselves, but their appearance in a brick and mortar Verizon store adds credence to the claims that the Xyboards themselves shouldn't be too far away. The packaging also gives us a peek at the DROID eye that'll be present on the Xyboards, which as our friend Joe at DroidDog points out, kind of resembles another famous eye.

Previous leaks have suggested that the DROID Xyboards could be on tap to launch as soon as December 8th, aka next Thursday, which is a date that seems increasingly likely as the days go by. As far as pricing goes, we've heard that the 8.2-inch model could be priced at $429.99/$529.99 for the 16/32GB models, while the larger 10.1-incher will cost $529.99/$629.99/$729.99 for the 16/32/64GB variants. Of course, nothing's officially official just yet, but you can bet that we'll be passing along the word from Verizon and Motorola just as soon as we get it. UPDATE: In case you needed even more evidence that Verizon's planning to launch the Xoom 2 Media Edition, the 8.2-inch slate was just caught passing through the FCC complete with support for band 13 LTE, the same kind that Verizon uses for its 4G connectivity. There's no mention of the device's name in the filing, but the basic rendering of the device that's in there matches up with the DROID Xyboard image that leaked last month.
