Details on Toshiba's Honeycomb-powered tablet have been trickling out over the past months, and now we may finally have some solid information on the device's pricing and even its name. Retailer J&R recently put up pre-order pages (which appear to have been removed) for a 10.1-inch Toshiba tablet dubbed the "Thrive," with pricing set at $449.99 for the 8GB version and $579.99 for the 32GB variety. Unfortunately, there's no mention of a release date, as both devices are only listed as "coming soon."
Although this pricing scheme isn't official just yet, $450 seems like a pretty fair price for a tablet with a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display, dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, and 1GB RAM. Plus, the Thrive will feature SD, USB, and HDMI ports as well as a removable, rubberized backside to help set itself out in the increasingly-crowded Android tablet market. So, anyone thinking about pulling the trigger on Toshiba's slate?
