Just a couple of days ago, some purported specs for the upcoming HTC Thunderbolt were leaked. A few of them seemed a little suspect, though, leading many to question if any of them were legit. Today more specs for the Thunderbolt have come to light, although this time they come from a more reputable source: HTC. Ads featuring the Thunderbolt under a black cloak have been popping up online, and they tout the device's 8 megapixel camera, video chat anywhere (which implies a front-facing camera and possibly conferencing over 4G), and "HD entertainment," hinting at a high quality screen. They're certainly not the meatiest bunch of specs ever, but at least we know they're solid, right?
Like I said before, the previous Thunderbolt spec leak seemed a little suspicious, mostly due to its claim that the handset would sport a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core processor, even though those chips aren't supposed to be widely available until 2012. Still, it did nail the 8 megapixel camera, front-facing cam, and likely the screen size, too, so it seems that the leak wasn't completely wrong. Just don't be disappointed when the Thunderbolt's actual spec list is revealed next week and it doesn't match this one word for word.
